Some supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are beginning to express hope as the Supreme Court begins the hearing of the election petition case brought to it by John Dramani Mahama.
The former President after the Electoral Commission (EC) declared the 2020 presidential results expressed misgivings over the numbers and has been reiterating that the EC favoured the NPP and President Akufo-Addo.
During a number of press conferences, Mr Mahama unequivocally stated that he believes the 2020 election outcome was not the true reflection and that the verdict of the people was stolen.
This personal conviction by the flagbearer of the NDC compelled him to submit an election petition case at the Supreme Court demanding the 2020 election results be wiped out and a re-run conducted between himself a President Akufo-Addo.
Today, January 14th 2020, the Supreme Court has begun to sit on the case and has promised to conclude proceedings within 42 days.
On the back of that, some NPP supporters on Twitter are pushing the hashtag (#PetitionAtoNsuom) to suggest that the demands Mr Mahama is asking the Supreme Court to grant as far as his petition is concerned will not materialize. In other words, his petition is flooded with errors and dead on arrival.
